Minor Areas of Study and Concentrations

WPI students are encouraged to structure their own academic programs. For example, you may choose additional areas of study over and above your academic Major in the form of a Minor or a Concentration. A Minor is a thematically related set of course work in an area separate from your Major. It typically entails taking six courses and completing a capstone project. A Concentration is offered within your Major or in an area closely related to your Major. To complete a Concentration, you need to select six classes designated by the department. In addition, your Major Project will be focused on a topic related to the Concentration.
