Meet the Staff
The WPI admissions staff looks forward to assisting you during your college search. Please e-mail admissions@wpi.edu or call us at 508-831-5286 with any questions you have about WPI or your application.
The WPI Admissions staff hails from seven different states! As a staff, we speak nine different languages including Russian, Spanish and American Sign Language. We are avid skiers, cake decorators, writers, power tool enthusiasts, mothers, fathers, crafters, and snow mobilers. Some of us have double-jointed appendages and others can split a deck of cards with one hand. Our favorite books include The Lord of the Rings Triology, The Kite Runner, Tuesdays With Morrie, and The Giving Tree. We are a staff of many talents and interests! Our staff is comprised of many people; read more below about our counselors that you will meet on the road and in the office.

Michelle Carrara
Senior Assistant Director
Hometown: Arlington, VT
Advice to applicants: In your college essay, write about something that interests YOU. I can tell when you are writing something because you think it is what I want to hear rather than what you are truly passionate about. Also, please don't forget to spell-check and grammar-check!
Regional Responsibilities: Guam, Illinois, Minnesota, Rhode Island, Virginia, and international locations
Julie Chapman
Associate Director
Hometown: Westborough, MA
Why I am at WPI: WPI has a fantastic sense of purpose and pride, and a cooperative spirit that is unparalleled. We also have a beautiful campus in a great college city. And I love WPI students and faculty! They are invested, innovative, inviting people making amazing and significant contributions in Worcester and around the globe. What a great community to be a part of everyday!
Regional Responsibilities: District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts
Jennifer Cluett
Senior Associate Director
Hometown: Walpole, MA
Advice for applicants: Visit every school you are applying to and people watch. Even better, talk to students on campus about their experiences in and out of the classroom. Also, read the email and mail we (Admissions) send to you. It may contain critical and time sensitive information.
Regional Responsibilities: Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin
Adam Epstein '05

Advice to applicants: Make every effort to visit campus and ask yourself the question, "Can I picture myself living here for the next four years?" Keep in mind that the college you choose is more than just a place to learn; it's a place to live. Make sure you find the right fit.

Kaitlin Gentile
Senior Assistant Director
Hometown: Candia, NH
Favorite part of WPI: WPI has so many interesting traditions—from Founder's Day to the class competitions and the illusive Goat's Head. It's great to see students having so much fun participating in events that have taken place for years. There is a lot of school spirit here.

Karen Goudey
Associate Director
Hometown: Randolph, VT
Favorite place on campus: The bowling alley! After all, how many universities have their OWN bowling alley?? After that, my next favorite place would have to be the Higgins House with its gorgeous, Tudor-style architecture and gardens.
Regional Responsibilities: Connecticut, international locations including Asia, India, and the Middle East
Bonnie Hall
Associate Director
Hometown: Hanover, NH
Favorite place on campus: That's tough! I have to say Harrington Auditorium gym basketball court where I play ball over lunch (connecting) with colleagues and students.
Regional Responsibilities: Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virgin Islands
Jason Laperriere
Assistant Director
Hometown: Gardner, MA
Advice to applicants: Take charge of your own college application process! Don't make/let someone else do all the work for you. I am consistently impressed when students call on their own behalf with questions about WPI or the application process. It shows a great deal of maturity and responsibility—traits that are essential to have when going away to college!

Assistant Director
Hometown: West Boylston, MA
Favorite thing about Worcester: There are so many things about Worcester that I love since I grew up here. I guess a big thing would have to be the number of restaurants that are in the area. You really can find all different types of food to explore in very close proximity.
Regional Responsibilities: Delaware, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania
