ROTC

WPI proudly offers Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs in cooperation with the US Department of Defense. ROTC programs are a supplement to the curriculum and provide a mix of leadership, personal development, national security, military history, and physical development practice and theory. Army and Air Force training are available on campus; Navy and Marine Corps training are also available on area college campuses. All programs offer scholarship opportunities.

Air Force (AFROTC)

The Air Force ROTC program trains officer candidates for future careers in the Air Force. Most of the Aerospace Studies (AS classes) and Leadership Laboratories (LLAB's) are held in one of the WPI buildings, such as Higgins Labs, Kaven Hall, or Fuller Labs. The 340th Cadet Wing has commissioned a total of over 700 officers, who serve their country proudly.

Navy (NROTC)

As the largest single source of Navy and Marine Corps officers, the NROTC Scholarship Program fills a vital need in preparing mature young men and women for leadership and management positions in an increasingly technical Navy and Marine Corps. Through this program midshipmen may receive degrees from WPI as midshipmen in Holy Cross NROTC.

Army (AROTC)

The Army ROTC program at WPI trains qualified college students for service as commissioned officers in the United States Army. Students learn and practice world-class leadership in a realistic and competitive environment. Army ROTC offers scholarships worth up to $17,000 per year to qualified applicants, along with $600 annually for books and up to $400 per month for spending money. To apply for a scholarship, visit the Army ROTC Program Web site, where you can learn more about opportunities, and either apply online or request a hard copy of the application.
