Global Perspective Photo Gallery: Washington, DC

Insights from the Student Photographer

My name is Jennifer Castriotta. I am a Junior Mechanical Engineering major from Keene NH. B-Term 2006 I went to Washington DC with 24 other students to complete our Interactive Qualifying Projects. We lived at a Residence Inn in the business district in Washington DC. For my project I worked with the Smithsonian Institution’s National Zoological Park. Our project was creating a website dealing with a biodiversity research outreach initiative. Simply put, we created a website containing research done by the Smithsonian Institution’s Monitoring and Assessing of Biodiversity Programs in the Gamba Complex of Gabon, Africa. My project group was myself, a Computer Science major, and an Environmental and Civil Engineering Major. Our project advisors were David Lucht and Peter Hansen.
