“Hello, my name is _____________________. May I please speak with Mr. or Mrs. __________? I'm an alumnus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The Admissions Office at WPI informed me that your (son/daughter) was admitted. I wanted to offer my congratulations and give you a chance to hear a little about WPI from an alumnus' point of view. Is (student's name) your first child to go to college?”
“Have you been up to visit the WPI campus?”
Opening to talk about appearance of campus, sense of community or their impressions of WPI.
“What is your child interested in studying?”
Opening to talk about individual program or what you have experienced or heard about the job placement and career opportunities of our graduates.
“WPI was an excellent choice for me. It offered small classes and a lot of student/faculty interaction. I had a great experience including the opportunity to (special travel, co op, project opportunities or special faculty relationship). And as an alum, I've been most pleased with ___________. I'd recommend WPI to anyone.”
